Located on the edge of the Guiana Space Centre, this recreation zone trail invites visitors to discover the biodiversity of French Guiana. The route winds through a variety of iconic landscapes: swamp forest, natural savannas, and areas of secondary forest.
The main loop covers 4 km, with a variant along the "piste du coq" (1.2 km), for approximately 1 hour 20 minutes of leisurely walking. The difficulty level is easy, suitable for all abilities. The trailhead is accessible from the parking area at the CSG entrance or from the Anse golf course, with clear signage throughout.
These habitats support remarkable wildlife and plant life. Among the iconic species, visitors may spot the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), squirrel monkeys, and three-toed sloths in the wooded areas, as well as birds such as the bearded tachuri and the capped seedeater. The trail also aims to raise awareness of the fragility of French Guiana's ecosystems: savannas cover just 0.3% of the territory and are threatened by invasive species such as Acacia mangium, as well as agricultural and land-use pressures.
