Overview

The Montabo Hill trail stretches 3.8 km through dense, well-preserved forest just minutes from downtown Cayenne. Easy and accessible to all, it is waymarked throughout and takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to complete.

Why Visit

The trail is home to rich and diverse flora and fauna: birds, monkeys, sloths, agoutis, and squirrels. Along the way, you can admire views of the sea, the mangroves, and rocky outcrops, and with a little luck catch sight of dolphins or manatees.

Practical Information

Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours. Difficulty: easy. The trail is waymarked and a car park is available nearby. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and a snack, and respect the natural environment and wildlife.
