Le jardin botanique de Cayenne

Rare orchids, palms and many medicinal plants native to the Guianese ecosystem, across three hectares.

Unveiled in the garden in 2017, it gathers 42 enamelled lava steles engraved with the names of the 13,043 people freed in French Guiana at the abolition of slavery in 1848.

Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, and Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm, on avenue du Général-Virgile.

A hat and a bottle of water: Cayenne's climate is hot and humid all year round.
