The new public square of Rémire-Montjoly is a 28,400 m² family space situated behind the town hall, at the junction of the Rémire and Montjoly neighbourhoods, close to Cayenne. Inaugurated on February 15, 2025, it brings together children's playgrounds, two water-jet fountains, green spaces, and numerous wooden and concrete benches. Paved pathways make strolling easy, including with a pushchair, and streetlights allow visitors to linger into the evening.

Built at a cost of €2,239,730, the square marks the beginning of a broader revitalisation project for the town centre of Rémire-Montjoly, linking the Rémire and Montjoly neighbourhoods. According to mayor Claude Plenet, the town now has its own gathering place, so residents no longer need to travel to the Place des Palmistes in Cayenne. At the inauguration ceremony, a stage hosted a concert featuring Nadège Chauvet and Tanya Saint-Val. A covered market hall and connections to the Moulin à Vent park are planned as future phases of the project.
