Overview

Canceler Creek is located in the municipality of Sinnamary, French Guiana, approximately 10 km from the town. Fed downstream by the Pripris de Yiyi, it is a peaceful spot appreciated by the local community. The site has simple amenities: tables and chairs for eating by the water.

• the possibility of crossing the Pripris de Yiyi, whose waters flow into the creek, through vast stretches of water and channels formed by moukou-moukou.

History

The short hike leads to an inselberg where traces of Amerindian grinding stones can be observed, evidence of an ancient occupation of the site by indigenous peoples.

Getting There

Canceler Creek is accessible from the Corossony road, heading towards Iracoubo on the RN1. It is approximately 10 km from the town of Sinnamary. Turn onto the track on your right and follow it for about ten minutes — it leads directly to the creek.
